About Dr. Martin Schmaltz
Background and Education
Dr. Schmaltz grew up in Southwestern Michigan and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree cum laude from Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1984. He has spent much of his career practicing in the metro Atlanta area, notably with the largest auto injury chiropractic clinic in the southeast. For the past 14 years, he has been practicing in the metro St. Louis area.
Personal Experience with Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care has been a part of Dr. Schmaltz’s life since childhood. His mother received treatment for a spinal injury and his father for whiplash, while Dr. Schmaltz himself began chiropractic care due to childhood asthma and continued through various sports-related injuries.
Credentials and Approach
Within the metro St. Louis region, Dr. Schmaltz is among the few board-certified chiropractic orthopedists. He is a Diplomate of the International Academy of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (DIANM), drawing on the latest neuroscience research and evidence-based practices to accurately diagnose and treat pain at its source.

A lifelong Michigan Wolverine fan, Dr. Schmaltz eagerly anticipates college football season each fall. In his free time, he enjoys tackling home projects with his wife of 45 years, Ava, traveling, and dabbling in woodworking.
